Definition: Interactive Voice Responce , Description: An Automated Digital Voice Announcing System - Interacting with a Caller or Called party by means of "listening" to DTMF (Dual Tone Multi Frequency) Tones and responding by playing back pre-recorded prompts or Recordings and can Store information obtained by the DTMF inputs.
  • These Systems can be used to Answer an Incoming call and allow the Caller to direct his/her call or obtain required information from the Server's Database. In the same way the system can be used to Call Parties from a database and play back information or ask questions.
  • Uses for these systems can be as simple as ,a Digital Receptionist transferring calls to the required department or obtaining an account balance to the more advanced Market Research engines.
